What are the requirements to owning a clothing business?

I went to a vocational school and received a diploma in legal administrative assisting and have a job in a law firm but my dream is own a clothing store. I just want to know the basic information to know about owning a clothing business. For example do I need to go back to school or gain experience in this field. I'm at this point where I want to be my own boss. Currently I hold many hats at my job such as being in charge of vendors, payroll, supplies, phones, computer issues, bills, file maintenance and whatever is needed to be done.
